Building an Inclusive and Empowered Society
Dristi Protibondhi Unnayan Parishad (DPUP) works to promote an inclusive society where persons with disabilities and vulnerable communities can enjoy equal rights, opportunities, dignity, and participation.
Our work combines rights-based advocacy, community development, education, rehabilitation, livelihoods, health, skills development, environmental action, and disaster resilience.
Disability Rights and Advocacy
DPUP promotes awareness of disability rights and works with communities, institutions, and stakeholders to reduce discrimination, exclusion, and barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
Inclusive Education
We support inclusive educational opportunities for children and young people with disabilities, including children with multiple disabilities, while promoting greater awareness among families, communities, and educational stakeholders.
Rehabilitation and Assistive Services
DPUP supports rehabilitation-related activities and facilitates access to assistive devices to help persons with disabilities improve mobility, independence, communication, education, and participation.
Skills and Employment
We promote skills development, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, small business development, and income-generating activities to strengthen economic participation and self-reliance.
Women’s Empowerment
Our initiatives support women with disabilities and vulnerable women through skills training, livelihoods, awareness, leadership development, and community participation.
Community Health and Education
DPUP works with communities on primary healthcare, health and nutrition awareness, family planning, sanitation, education, and other community-based initiatives.
Climate and Disaster Resilience
Climate change and disasters can have a disproportionate impact on vulnerable people. DPUP promotes climate adaptation, environmental conservation, Climate Clubs, Early Warning Centers, and Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives.
Community-Based Development
We work closely with communities to identify local needs, strengthen self-help groups, develop livelihoods, improve access to services, and encourage community leadership.
Inclusion, Dignity and Equal Opportunity for All
Through these areas of work, DPUP seeks to strengthen participation, independence, resilience, and access to opportunities for persons with disabilities, vulnerable families, women, children, and communities.
